Victoria & 100 Women Who Care
Ms. Victoria is an 80-year-old widow who has lived in her Waukesha County home for 53 years. It’s more than a house—it’s the only home she has ever known, filled with decades of memories, milestones, and a deep sense of comfort.
Staying there isn’t just a preference for her; it’s her heartfelt wish. As the years passed, everyday tasks became more challenging. Her son, Elijah, helps as much as he can, but Victoria’s needs had grown beyond what occasional assistance could solve.
One of the most urgent concerns was water access. Her kitchen faucet had stopped working entirely, making basic daily activities difficult and frustrating. In the bathroom, safety had become a serious issue. The bathtub posed a risk, and getting in and out safely was no longer guaranteed. Installing a cut-out tub transformed the space, giving her back both independence and peace of mind. Safety concerns extended beyond plumbing. Poor lighting throughout the home made it difficult to see clearly, increasing the risk of falls. New lighting fixtures brightened her living spaces and improved visibility. Outside, sturdy railings were installed to ensure she could safely navigate the steps leading in and out of her home. Even her front door needed attention—a spring issue made it hard to manage, and fixing it removed yet another daily obstacle.
Each of these improvements may seem small on their own, but together they made something priceless possible: Victoria can remain safely in the home she loves. She has shared how deeply grateful she is. She wants to thank each and every woman of 100 Women Who Care –Waukesha for making it possible for her to stay where she belongs. Because of your generosity and care, her home is once again a place of comfort, safety, and dignity—and she can continue living there with confidence and peace.
