Cedric’s New Roof & Gutters
In early November, Cedric received a visit that would set an important process in motion. His home, already bearing the wear of time, had suffered from a history of leak problems made significantly worse by the heavy flooding that swept through the area in August. Because of the urgency of his situation, he was added to the queue late in the cycle and designated as a Priority 1 case.
As the new year approached, plans began to take shape. In early January, Cedric’s home was cleared and placed in the first group of five projects for the current cycle. However, nature had its own timeline. A fierce January Polar Vortex brought roofing work across the region to a halt, making weather the single greatest obstacle.
Only two roofs were completed that month, as freezing temperatures and unsafe conditions forced crews to wait for a break in the cold.
That break finally came in the second week of February the first stretch of suitable temperatures for roofing since the deep freeze. From February 9th through the 11th, the long-awaited work took place.
The contractor installed a new roof and gutters with care and precision.
For Cedric, a longtime resident of Milwaukee’s Lindsay Heights Neighborhood, the project marked more than just a repair. It was a renewal-an investment in the stability and safety of the home he has known for years. Thanks to the support of The Zilber Family Foundation his home now stands secure, protected from future storms, and leak-free for the foreseeable future
