Shirley & Hope Restored

Shirley, 77, has spent much of her life in her home in Milwaukee. A widow, she describes her life simply as “happy,” filled with friends, family, and strong faith.

In recent years, health challenges and aging made everyday tasks harder. Her home needed several safety repairs: a tub cut-out and grab bars in the bathroom, a taller toilet, a soft and loose kitchen floor fixed, a broken storm door replaced, new front door hardware, a working kitchen exhaust fan, and added handrails.

Shirley is most proud of her daughters and the values she’s lived by faith, humility, and helping others. She believes in being patient and taking time to support people in need.

She says the repair work Revitalize Milwaukee has done in her neighborhood is a “great job” by “nice people” who “give hope,” helping her stay safe and comfortable in the home she loves.
